Umm, okay - I can understand that Saddam's executioners would not exactly want to broadcast their identities, but ski masks??? Am I the only one who thinks this looks more like a terrorist action than a lawful execution? They might as well have just beheaded him instead...

You know that was my reaction too, even though we all know that at executions especially hangings the executioner normally wears a hood.
Right - the anonymity is appropriate and traditional, but they really should have made an effort to give them something with more gravitas than ski masks.
It's very strange, almost like they're sending some kind of subliminal message (i.e., Shi'ite death squads can get to *anyone*!).
