Here's hoping he lives another 80 years... in prison.
An 80-year-old former Ku Klux Klansman was convicted of manslaughter Tuesday in the slayings of three civil rights workers exactly 41 years ago in a notorious case that inspired the movie "Mississippi Burning."The jury of nine whites and three blacks reached the verdict on their second day of deliberations, rejecting murder charges against Edgar Ray Killen but also turning aside defense claims that he wasn't involved at all.
Yet another racist murderer held accountable after leading a long, full life. Hooray...

Too bad it was manslaughter instead of murder. The lesser charge was added in to get a conviction.
That should say "in order to"
Dang, I totally glossed over that. Don't think I'll be calling him a "racist manslaughterer", though.
I too wish it had been murder. The SOB got to live a whole life. And I have never bought the New South tripe. They couldn't convict on murder and MS's 2 Senators won't go on record as against lynching...some New South.
