NYC Photoblogging, Signage Edition

By a strange coincidence, the four photos I picked today all have some form of signage in them. Maybe it's carryover from my last photo yesterday.

Well, that certainly clears things up.

In some binary pairs, the more massive body's gravitational field will actually suck matter away from the less massive body.

Apparently this is the primal ball-thingy-on-a-barrel.

Please excuse my ignorance, but WTF is a "Speed Table"?

UPDATE: The Google-using shadowy and mysterious Codename V. has informed me that a speed table is a variety of speed bump. Huzzah.

You really have a great eye Eli. I don't say that just because I think you're a hottie. Pretty pictures. I added a new link to my post...very interesting. Will Bunch rocks.

Aw, double shucks. Thanks, and you're not so bad yourself.

What hope said. I may see the same things like you do but not the way you see them.

Thanks, jay!

That's all well and good, but does that mean you think I'm a hottie?

Speed Table, LOL. Didn't you know that street signs are designed to be as incomprehensible as possible? Hence, more confused people and more $$ for the city coffers. Parking signs are particularly sneaky in this respect...

I saw one on an earlier NYC visit that warned of a "Hollow Sidewalk"...
